How many people can you accommodate?
Our facility has 8 work stations and 8 beds.
Inclement Weather policy
We accept bookings 12 months of the year but realize that winter weather can be an issue. If the weather turns for the worse and makes it dangerous to travel, park, or load/unload we will work with you to fully refund or reschedule your retreat.
Do you provide food & drink?
We do not currently provide food or drink for private retreats, but have a fully stocked kitchen with refrigerator, freezer, stove, oven, microwave, sink, dishwasher as well as pots, pans, crock pots, dishes, bowls, and silverware. We also provide paper goods (plates, napkins, plastic utensils) if you prefer not to do dishes.
You are welcome to use anything in the kitchen and bring your own meals, or there are many restaurant choices in nearby Smithville, Kearney, and Liberty as well as grocery stores within a 5-10 min drive.
We DO provide food & drink for open retreats; the food costs are divided among the participants and vary depending on number of people and length of stay, but are generally in the $50-70 range per person for the duration of the retreat (2 meals per day + snacks).
Do you only allow quilters?
No! We welcome crafters of all kinds - anyone that needs a work space for a weekend getaway. Crafts, scrapbooking, quilting, or most any other handiwork is welcome.
Do you only do 4-day retreats, Thursday - Sunday?
No, that's just what most people choose (and what our automated booking engine supports) because it's over a weekend. We can also accommodate other schedules (weekday retreats, 2-day, 3-day retreats, 7-day retreats, etc). Contact us with your request and we'll put together a custom quote for your group!
Do you ever host open or public retreats? I don't have a group!
If you don't have a group of 4+ people, don't worry! We host "open" retreats that are first come, first served for up to 8 people. You can book 1 or more slots in the open retreat for yourself or your smaller group if you don't want to round up more friends or pay the 4-person minimum for your own private retreat.

Are the bedrooms private?
Bedrooms and bathrooms are shared. The facility has a master bedroom with 5 twin beds and attached full bath, and a secondary bedroom with 3 twin beds and a full bath down the hallway. There is a half bath in the main work area across the hall from the secondary bedroom.
Complimentary ear plugs are provided.
What do I need to bring?
We provide most everything you'll need other than your sewing machine, notions, and projects. Check out our Quilt Retreat Packing List for a list of what's provided and some ideas for things to bring with you. Forget something? Just ask - chances are we've got something you can borrow (even machines!)
For scrapbooking, we have many stamps and pads that you're welcome to use.
